Land fill, every Town should have one.

South Hadley. When will the landfill end? Did you know it cost $40,000 dollars to haul away the amount of trash that South Hadley residents can produce in one month. Of course we don’t have to pay that now but someday it surely will happen.
Residents take the trash man for granted and right now we still enjoy cheap and efficient trash removal. But some day in the next ten years that’s all going to change.

Did you know that the landfill in South Hadley is so tall it is recognizable from Hartford and looks like a desert landscape from Google Earth. Did you know that compacted trash compressed in the landfill by bulldozers that run back and forth in that endeavor becomes hard a amalgamated plastic and will take dynamite to break it up in the event it has to be moved.

All this good time will run out soon. And I only have one question. What does the South Hadley Master Plan have to say about that?
